Here is a quick, step by step guide, on how to speed things up on your Windows Vista PC!
One trick is to reduce the number of programs running in the background. You could have up to 50 programs in memory that serve no purpose whatsoever... yikes! All the icons you see in the task bar, at the bottom right of the screen, is only a fraction of the total number of programs in memory.
Here's the process you want to follow...
1)Click on Start, then go to the Search Bar and type in msconfig, press enter.
2)The System Configuration Windows should pop up.
3)Click on the Startup tab.
4)You can untick all of these, except for anti-virus and important drivers.
5)Now click on the Services tab.
6)Click on the "Hide all Microsoft Services" tab.
7)Untick any services you don't need.
8)Click 'apply'.
If you not sure which programs you need in memory, play around a bit. Each time you restart your computer the changes will take effect; so it might take a few restarts before you find the perfect settings.
